Jason joined the COTK staff in 2001 to work in youth ministries. Around thirteen years ago God opened up an opportunity for him to be a youth pastor in the New Orleans area in another small church, consisting of thirty-five people. At this time Jason wanted to get into a few high schools to get more in touch with students. Then he met Pastor Stephen Robinson who ran Next Generation Ministries, a local campus ministry. Jason helped him raise one of the school clubs to over two hundred students each week. Jason immediately inherited four high school clubs running around eight-hundred students a week while our youth ministry had grown to about sixty at the time. The most important part of the story happened during this time and he married Stephanie Smith, a New Orleans girl and a blast to be with. They have four kids; Mia , Trent, Ella and Elise are his beautiful children. Pastor Steve felt a call from God to go to a suburb of New Orleans and start a church, about an hour away from the church Jason was in, but a different region all together. Two years after Pastor Steve started, Jason came over to help as the youth minister and in eight years they watched the youth ministry go from twenty-five students to five hundred in regular attendance.
